My Weekend

Well, not up to much this weekend...just cleaning the house and doing some errands. Hopefully I will get some time to scrap either tonight, or tomorrow, but I have ALL DAY Monday, too! At some point I have to get some school work done, too!

I was looking through some photos of LO's that I have, and there are many that I have never posted, so I thought I would!

Arboretum: I did this LO at a crop with Tara in Senaca Falls. It was the first 2 pg LO that I ever did where I cut through a photo. It didn't come out that bad!

This was Johnny's 8th grade dance. He went with his 'friend' Maggie. They were both so cute and I def. think they were the best dressed there! :)

Old Town Spring: This was when the fam came down for Easter. Old Town Spring is a cute little town with all kinds or boutiques and shops. The whole town is near a RR. One of the restaurants is the RR station called "Puffabelly's". They have the best fried pickles!!! I made the frames in this LO using some stamps from CTMH and some others from Oriental Trading Company. The large one i made with a whole bunch of different stamps to get that oval shape. The papers are Daisy D's which were at the Christmas Tree Shoppes for $1.97 for the pack!!1

More to come....

1 hour sketch contest.

There was a one hour sketch contest tonight at Creative Scrappers. A sketch was posted and you had one hour to do a LO and 15 minutes to upload. Unfortunately, I cant' get it to upload because their website won't open! They must've been flooded with people. Anyway, here was my LO. I am so proud that I did it in an hour an it is one of my most fav LO's ever, probably b/c I didn't think about it too much!!

These papers are the blue hill line from Crate and what I did was glue one 8x 9 square down, then trace the size of my photo, cute out a square a bit smaller than than the photo, and folded the edges back to make the frame. I like how both back sides of the papers show through. This was something I just did on a whim, and I love the way it looks...I will have to play around with this more.

Back to School!

Well life as I know it is over...until next summer anyway. yes, I haven't even started school yet and I am already thinking about next summer! The kiddos start back tomorrow morning and I am sure that it is going to be a crazy day. I did a LO for a challenge on "scrap for a cure" blog: where you had to have a clock in the LO and the word "Time". I did a LO about the time that I hate the most: 5:45 am, which is when I get up (well, it is when the alarm goes off, anyway...)

I took some photos of my classroom, which I actually really love. The only thing is that it doesn't have windows..but the hallways are pretty bright. I plan on putting these into a LO at some point.

So that's enough about school.

Last week I had wanted to do 10 LO's. I got 5 done. 50% is not good! :) I don't know why it took me so long to do, but here are the ones that I did:

Hearts of Boldt: I love the story of what George Boldt did for his wife when he built Boldt Castle. There are hearts integrated into the design everywhere..It was so touching:

Glam: Here is one of me. I actually really like these pics. I made one of them my avatar pic on all my forums:

Sweet Thing: Finally, this really cute one of the girls eating marshmallows. I love the Little Yellow Bicycle "Delightful" line!

This weekends goals

Call me crazy, but I want to get 10 LO's done this weekend. I know...CRAZY. Keith is working nights, and tonight I have my monthly crop, so I plan on getting 5 done there tonight, and 5 at some other point this weekend. Plus there is a mini album I want to do..ugh..maybe I should be working on stuff instead of updating my blog!

Anyway, I did this LO called Color My World with the pic that I took this summer of my mom and dads ADK chairs at their cottage. I LOVE this photo. I wanted to really highlight the colors, so I used only grey and black and white paper and embellishments:

Also, here are two LO's that I did a while ago (but haven't posted) for my Book of 8's. This book was supposed to have 8 pages with 8 photos that I completed in 8 days. I DID that, but I loved it so much, that I added more LO's. I like doing 8 photos because I take so many. This way it is easy to get them all scrapped, and I can pick the ones that I think sum up the event the best:

Submission for DT

OK, so I submitted some work for a design team call for sugarnspice scrapbooks. I have never submitted anything before for any contest, so we will see how this goes! I am a bit nervous. Anyway, here are the 5 items I submitted:

This was my "altered: project. These are metal pieces that I covered with paper and then punched holes with my cropadile. Then I strung them together with twine. I also covered and inked some letters, and added some magnets to some wooden buttons and frames. I think it came out cute!

I also submitted one of my fav LO's called of when I got hit in the eye with a field hockey puck. I used a masking technique to do the word "blue" and I stamped the word Black on transparency.

Finally, I submitted one about my Mother in Law!!!I really love the colors that I used in this LO. I had these Martha Stewart papers that I didn't really love, but they worked great here:

I also submitted the camera shy and the summertime LO's below.

Recent LO's

I have been feeling really creative this week for some reason. Maybe it is because it is my last week of freedom before school starts. :(

This one was for a challenge where we had to use the word treasure. I had these photos laid out to do, and I thought of a perfect saying: "One man's junk is another man's Treasure!" But to me it was all junk, that is why I got rid of it! :)

OK, here are some recent LO's that I have done this week. Some of them were for challenges on sugarnspicescrapbooks.com (AWESOME SITE).

Here is one from another challenge where we someone posted an ad and we had to interpret it. Here was the original ad:

I loved the rich gold and red colors and I love the simple, clean look of the frame on the page.
And here was my interpretation:

This LO below was inspired from a LO in "The Look Book". I love these papers from Cosmo Cricket and Creative Imaginations. I also love the subject of the LO :) !!

Finally, I snapped this photo while sitting on the boat one day this summer, and when I look at it, it just reminds me of what a great summer I had. I also just got a whole bunch of papers and embellishments from the Little Yellow Bicycle "Delightful" collection, so I used some stuff from there, and some of the paper are Martha Stewart that I got on clearance at Michaels for CHEAP!

More to come soon!

Summer Update

Well I haven't posted in a LONG time, so I am going to try to summarize...

I spent the summer up in NY mostly at my parents cottage on Cayuga Lake. It was a fantastic time. I also visited Keith's bro and sis in NC. The drive was LONG, but I would do it again. I took almost 1000 photos this summer. I brought all my scrapbooking stuff with me, which was probably crazy, but i actually did find a lot of time to scrap. I also got a chance to go to an all day crop in Seneca Falls with Tara.

When Keith came up for a few weeks we went to his camp in the 1000 Islands, and we went white water rafting and did a waverunner trip to Boldt Castle. We got to see almost everyone we planned on seeing...almost all our family and friends. it was tiring!!!! But we had a great time.

Here are some of the pics:
