Sketchy Thursdays 4.28 REVEAL!

Well I am a little late with getting this posted today, but better late than never.  We just got back tonight from our 8 day trip to Tampa to stay with MIL for Easter with my SIL (sans her hubby) and her 2 kiddos and my BIL (sans his wife).  We had a full house but we had a great time.  Lots of photos on their way to pages...:)

For this weeks sketch at Sketchy Thursdays, I used some photos from when my Mom and Dad came to visit a few weeks ago.  I let my mother take Charlotte around Joann's, and I could hear them all over the store!  :)  They were having lots of fun!

More Crate Paper goodness, this time with the Neighborhood collection.

I really love the trend of little flags right now.  I think I am going to be doing more of these on my pages.  I just used a toothpick for the one on the right.

And of course, lots of fussy cutting...love these cute flowers and butterflies and bees...

I can't wait to get back into my scraproom!  I have a TON of stuff to do!  I can't wait until Sunday, May 1st to show you my pages with the May Magpie Club kit!!!!!!

Some double pagers with SEI....

I don't know what it is, but for some reason I love to do double pages with my SEI papers!  Perhaps it is becuase there are so many papers in a pack that I just want to use them all!

Most of the time when I do pages, I try to find papers that have colors that contrast with my photos so that my photos stand out more.  I don't use the colors in the photos that much to find papers to match.  But this page was an exception because everything just matched so perfectly!

A few weeks ago, on one of our many trips to the park, we found some dandelions and some fluffies and I was trying to teach Charlotte how to blow they away.  At first she put them on her lips and she was getting the little seeds stuck to her lips and was trying to spit them out...it was funny.  But then she started to get the hang of it.

The title is from the die cut pack from the Corrinne line, and I used some BG tiny alphas, too.  I typed my journaling and outlined the blocks with a pen.

The butterflies were cut from some paper and I added some of the pearls from the sundries pack.

I had this stamp in my stash and it reminded me of dandelions, so I used it.  For the centers, I used some metal spirals and peals also from the sundries pack that coordinate with the Sunny Days papers.

This next page was a bit hard for me at first because of all the colors in the photos.  I didn't know which colors to focus on, so I went with the grey background to try and make the photos stand out more.

We bought some flower spinners at Hobby Lobby for the front gardens and Charlotte had fun putting them together and sticking them in the ground.

I wanted to add some color to the top left of the layout so I created a banner with some papers from the Athlete, Sunny Days, and Corrinne collections.

There are some adorable felt and die cut flower pieces that come with the Sunny Days line, so I created this flower cluster with my journaling spot, although I journaled on some of the border strips, too.

What is with all the alliteration in my titles lately?  Someone stop me...

Fountains of Fun...more Fancy Pants....

This is the last page that I created with the Fancy Pants "It's the Little Things" line from YSS.  We recreated this page in my class at Scrapp'n Savvy this past Tuesday.

A few weeks ago when my mom and dad were visiting, they had Charlotte for the day and had taken her to the Market where they have a center square with these fun fountains.  They both took some photos and I asked them to write a little bit about the day.  Their journaling (in my hand writing) in on the cards in the pocket.

I wanted to use the flocked transparency again cause I just LOVE it!  So I decided to make it into a pocket, and secure it on the bottom with glue and on the sides with ribbon.  I used a heart punch to make the little holes in the cards to tie some twine to.

I just love all the bits a pieces that are available with this line, especially the chipboard.  I used some random chipboard shapes to make the banner and decorated it with some more chipboard and some die cut elements.

I will have another post coming up again on Tuesday, and then again on Thursday!

A tisket a tasket...I made an Easter basket...

So SEI has a new line out this spring called Couture.  it is light greens and purples and greys with s bit of pewter....it is just gorgeous.  It is perfect for Spring and Mother's Day crafts.

I wanted to so some sort of Easter project this month, so I decided I wanted to decorate some eggs.  But along with the eggs you need a basket, too!

I thought about making my own basket, but why reinvent the wheel when there are already tons of great tutorials out there!?  I found this cute basket tutorial HERE.

I used some of the White Elegance collection from SEI to create the basket.  It was actually really simple to do.  I changed things up just a bit by adding just one handle out of paper, and the rim is a bit different, too.

To make the "grass" I cut up some light green tissue paper into strips and sprayed it was some darker green "Tumble Dry" spray from SEI.  You can use this spray on ANYTHING, including to dye fabric (you have to heat set it I think).  But it also works just like a spray mist.

The eggs are paper mache and I bought them at Hobby Lobby.  I painted each white and then sprayed them with some mists and added some paper punched embellishments from the Couture line, along with some pearls and bling.  I added a few coats of Mod Podge to make sure they'd stay pretty!  :)

To make the little pick, I pleated some paper to make the rosette and then added a punched circle and my sentiment with some rub-ons!

I really love this little basket and it now sits on our kitchen table and looks so springy!!!

PLEASE stop by the SEI blog and leave a comment if you have time (and/or one here, too!).  Thank you wonderful blog followers!

Grammy's Mani & Pedi Service..Sketchy Thursdays 4/14 reveal!

I have really been getting into 2-pagers lately!!!  So I was SOOO happy to see a 2-pager for this weeks sketch at Sketchy Thursdays!  Although, you could look at each page as a single page sketch, too!

I combined this sketch with this month's color combo challenge at Crate Paper.  I think I have more Crate Paper than any other manufacturer!!!  So it was easy to pick colors out of a bunch of lines....

I just loved these photos of my mom painting Charlotte's nails, and although the large one is a bit blurry, I loved how she was looking in the camera, so I used it anyways!

I hate you Martha Stewart....for making this "Cherish" punch that I love, but HAVE to hand stitch....I just can't leave it plain....again this took me a while!

I added some old chipboard pieces from the Create Stonehill line (from like 3-4 years ago!), and some new Emma's Shoppe pieces, too!

I really think this is one of my favorite layouts so far this year!

You MUST go see the other DT creations for this weeks sketch...they are all simply amazing!  TFL!

Clip It Up Altered Wall Mount

I'm not much of an "altered items" scrappers.  I love to do pages.  But when I got the wall mount and got an idea for a project, it consumed me and I totally got into it!

I will save all the details and "how-tos" for the post on the Clip It Up Blog (which is up today), but here are a few photos of my project.

Please go visit the Clip It Up Blog to get some more details!

Cocoa Daisy kit and a few more from the crop....

I got my April Cocoa Daisy kit on Thursday and I purchased some of the add ons, too!  It is SOOOO awesome and my most favorite kit ever!  Unfortunately, I think it is all sold out.  But check the store anyways!

When I see sneak peeks of kits, I starting pulling out photos to go along with the kit.  So when I saw the piece of American Crafts paper with the rain drops on it, I knew exactly which photos to use!

Unfortunately, we don't get anough rainy days around here!  But when it rains, it pours, literally.  Charlotte hadn't learned yet to be scared of the thuder and lightning, but she was getting quite upset that her toys were getting all wet...even though they are pool toys.

I totally screwed up a word in the journaling and I HATE when I do that!  Oh well...I handwrite all the time because I think it adds a more personal touch to my pages.  I guess people will jsut know that I was a bad *speeler*.

Anyways, I punched some holes in the top right and bottom of the page to let the bllue background stand out.  The cloud is from the Jillibean Soup paper, and the paper I journaled on is from Studio Calico...its that piece with the birch trees and when I turned it sideways I thought it'd be perfect for journaling.

The 2nd page I made with my kit I used a sketch from a new sketch site "Once Upon A Sketch".  The papers are Basic Grey and Glitz, and all the little embellies came in the kit.

I hemmed and hawed about using the rub-ons, but I like the way it turned out!  I like rub ons a lot, but don't use them enough.

Lastly is a page I made using some more of the We R Memory Keepers Family line from Your Scrapbook Stash.  I loved the colors on this paisley print and because it is so busy, I knew the rest of the page had to be somewhat simple.

This page was based on a sketch at Citrus Tree Studios crop this past week.  I did 4 of the 8 challenges, in 2 days, which I was very pleased with!!!

Speaking of this line, I have a project that will post to Simply Renee Clip It Up on Wednesday using the We R Family line and the Clip It Up Wall Mount.  I have been working on this forever, it seems!!!!!

OH and I got my first Magpie Club kit on Friday...the reveal will be the end of the month, and let me tell you you are going to LOVE this kit....so so gorgeous!!

A late holiday and a crop...

Erica at Your Scrapbook Stash sent me some We R Memory Keepers papers to work with.  I got the Valentine's line and the Family line.  The great thing about the Valentine's line is that the colors are perfect for spring, too!  BUT I did have some Valentine's photos that I have had printed and just haven't scrapped yet, so it was perfect timing!

The We R line has cardstocks which are stitched with patterns and sayings along the edges...they are super super cute.   I cut the outside edge off to expose the design more and I used a black marker to highlight the words "True Love".

I cut out a large heart from scrap paper and used the negative as a spray template to mist the yellow heart.  I then stitched around it with black thread.

I was so mad cause I got a little mist on the left side of the cardstock.  So I tried to cover it up with white paint, and the whites didn't match!!  UGH!  So I decided to spread some paint on some other areas to try and balance it out.  I'd like to say this was a happy accident, but I wasn't happy about it, even though it turned out OK.

On this next page, I was inspired to use the die cut paper, and just loved these colors.  I chose to use a dark brown background because my mom and Charlotte were making Chocolate pudding!

I traced the other half of the paper with a pencil and then stitched around the edges.

I added a few simple circles for embellies and that was it!  I used this page for a crop that is going on this weekend at Citrus Tree Studios (where I guest designed back in October).  It has been a lot of fun, and I've got three more pages to share tomorrow!

Enjoy this day...

Here's another one I whipped up with the new Fancy Pants line for my class at Scrapp'n' Savvy April 19th. I got the papers from YSS.

I just LOVE LOVE these photos of my mom and dad at the arboretum we went to last week.  The colors of their shirts against the colors of the flowers are just so lovely!

When I started this page, I knew I wanted to try a different type of design and have my photos flush with the edge of the page for a change.  I stitched around them to make them stand out a bit more.

For my background, I used this new stamp I got at my LSS which has a crackle pattern.  I just used VersaMark on kraft cardstock and I love how it turned out!

I also did some little punches here and there.  I love using punches and really want to use them more to layer elements.

I am not much of a flower maker, but I wanted to make something that resembeled an azalea (which are in the photos).  And this is what I got.  It isn't the best, but I like it.  The yellow stamens I found at Michaels in the baking secion of all places.

My FIRST Sketchy Thursdays REVEAL!

I am so excited to share my first layout as a Sketchy Thursdays DT member!!  This week, everyone on the team is doing the sketch for the big reveal of the new team members.  I just can't get enough of these sketches!

Here is this week's sketch:

I used the lovely Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe line for this page.  I won this line at the Crate Paper blog for a contest!!!

I did a few things I don't normally do on a page for this layout.  First of all, I matted my photos with patterned paper...I NEVER do that!  But I wanted some more green on my page.

And 2ndly, I used some green mist.  I have a tons of mists, but don't use them that much....I need to use them a lot more.

I also decided to leave my loose stitching ends and tie them in a small bow...love it!

Be sure to enter this sketch challenge to win a wonderful prize from Freehand Scraps.

In other news, I got an email YESTERDAY from Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine about a layout I had sent in for their Spring call. Although it wasn't chosen for print, they asked if they could use it on their blog today!!!!!!   OF COURSE!  Woo Hoo!

I made this page a while ago using some of the Monsterville collection from SEI and some of their lace die cuts, too!

Please hop over the the SCT blog and check it out!
