Now for the May kit reveal:
This kit features some papers from the Crate Paper "Brook" line and My Mind's Eye "Quite Contrary-Little Boy".
Here are some of my creations with the kit (so far!)
This first LO I really only used one piece of patterned paper. I used the alphas chipboard and traced the shaped and then painted it with white paint.
For the title, I painted the brown alphas white and misted them a bit with some blue glimmer mist. Then I wrote out the word "bonnets" on a transparecny with a black sharpie.
For the flowers, I used a scallop circle punch with the blue cardstock (which I misted with red and blue mist to make it more purple). I cut each scallop circle in half and rolled into a cone.
And of course it wouldn't be complete without some butterflies!
For this next LO, I also used a patterned paper for teh background, and some punched strips for behind the photos.
Some of the buttons came with the kit, but the others were clear ones from my stash that I backed with patterned paper and glossy accents.
Finally, for this LO, I used some brown mist on te backgroun and then went over it while it was wet with a light coat of Mod Podge....it gives it a little bit of a sheen, and loved the effect...I will definetly try this again!
I wrapped some of teh Jillibean Soup twine around the patterned paper and then stitched it.
The colors in this kit were a bit challenging for me since I have a little girl, but I am so happy with how things came out, and I am glad I tried a lot of techniques to make it fit my photos!
Your next stop on the blog hop is
Jennifer's Blog. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her work...it is truly amazing, and you'll love it, too!
Be sure to stop back on MONDAY MAY 4 for another installment of this blog hop with a fun twist!
