S.E.I. Kris Kringle

I am so excited to share my December projects for S.E.I. today!!!!   I just LOVE this S.E.I. Kris Kringle paper line.  There is lots of glitter and embossing and the die cuts and felt pieces are simply ADORABLE!

I have to admit, that I wanted to save some of the little bits because I want to use them in my December Daily album next year!  :)

This first page is about a little trip we took last holiday season to a neighborhood that has this awesome light display!  Charlotte was only 7 months old, but she still loved looking outside!

I stamped the swirly line with an American Crafts stamp and added some rhinestones to simulate a strand of Christmas lights!

The circles were cut from patterned paper, edges inked,  and embellished with some rhinestones.  Then there is that CUTE little felt birdie!

I just LOVE this next page!  I set Charlotte up last year on a "photo shoot" with a Santa hat!  This was one of my favorites!  Do you know how many I had to take just to get one good one?????

I used some spellbinders dies to cut the bracket areas and then stitched over them with red thread.

I also used some of the die cut candy canes!  Oh and the best thing about the die cuts?  They are TWO SIDED!!!

Well I hope you enjoyed these projects!  I have been having so much fun with my S.E.I. stuff!

Some good news and some sad news....

Well I am gonna start with the sad news.  The LSS where I work will be closing its doors next Thursday after 10 years.  The owners have been trying to sell the store for the past year because they really want to retire, but just haven't found a buyer.  It is really sad to see such a great little place go.

I want to thank all my class "students" who have supported me and continually came to my classes, espeically Vikki, LuAnn and Victoria, Alicia and Kristy, Donna, Nancy, Kim, Stephanie, Krishna and Jean!

I DO have a few plans up my sleeve.  I am looking into teaching at another location in The Woodlands, so I will keep you updated for sure!

Now for the good news!

I am SO excited to announce that I have made the Design Team at Your Scrapbook Stash!!!!!   Your Scrapbook Stash is an AWESOME online store with the latest and greatest products, and ALWAYS fantastic sales.  Check the BLOG HERE to see the other fantastic ladies who made the team and the STORE HERE to check out all the wonderful products!

Well we are headed out for the holidays on Wednesday, and I won't be back until January 6th!!  BUT I have a whole bunch of posts lined up, THREE kit club reveals, and a News Years Eve crop!!!

LOL! Sketchy Thursdays!

Well I haven't done a Sketchy Thursdays  sketch in a long time!   I had these photos printed out weeks ago, and when I saw the sketch this week, I knew I had to do it!

I got the Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 line a few weeks ago, too, and wanted to use it!  Since Charlotte is wearing purple on this page, I wanted to have some yellow in the background to make the photos stand out!

I can't wait to work with these papers more!  I just love them!

Dear Lizzy Christmas

Back in October, I won one of the weekly challenges at the American Crafts Studio blog.  I got to choose any collection I wanted so I chose the Dear Lizzy Christmas.  I just LOVE the colors of this line!  You wouldn't believe the package that they sent me....EVERYTHING!!  It was fantastic!

So I created the three pages below using the goodies that I recieved.  Since my LSS also carries this line, we are going to make these pages in my next class!

For this first page, I used a lot of the ribbon from the collection.  There are also these cute little tags, too!  I cut the stamp out of white cardstock with a large die at my LSS.

For this next page about our Christmas cookie event every year, I actually took some cookie cutters and "stamped" on my page with some brown paint!

This cute little gingerbread man comes in a pack of the felt embellies.

This last page I think is my favorite!  I love the colors of these papers for a tree page.  They remind me of the colors of a blue spruce!

I used a TIm Holtz embossing folder for the journaling area and distressed it.  I also cut the tree with a die and used some blue and white stickles on it.

For the title are, I stamped with some VersaMark using the text stamp from the Dear Lizzy stamps and a tree stamp from CTMH.

I can't wait to get some more holiday photos so that I can use some more of these papers and goodies!!!  TFL!

December Daily 2010-Cover, Foundation, and Days 1-3

Well I finally got 'er done!!!!  Last year I went ALL OUT on my album and spent a long time on it. SEE IT HERE.  I LOVED it.  But guess what?  I didn't finish it.  I have all the photos and the journaling, but I have to finish putting it together.

So jump to this year.  I decided to go a much much simpler route.  8.5 x 11", so I could buy cardstock already to size and a 3 ring binder to put it in.

I found this awesome binder at Target and thought is was perfect for a holiday album.  I added some trim, chipboard pieces, vellum quotes and stickers to deocrate the front.  SIMPLE!

My foundation pages were also very simple.  I used 8.5" x 11" cardstock cut in unequal halved both vertically and horizontally.  Then I cut patterned paper to make up the difference.

I LOVE patterned paper, so I wanted to make sure I had a lot of it in my album.  I used Basic Grey Jovial, Figgy Pudding, and Lily Bee Christmas Town.  The cardstock is all different colors.

I then stitched the seams of all the pages with red thread.  My favorite pages are the blue and brown ones with the red thread!  I love the contrast.

For each day I plan to do one or two 4x6 photos on the foundation pages, and then I have a whole bunch of filler pages that hold 4x6 photos if there are days where I have a lot of photos.  I have also put a few photos on the back of the foundation pages, too.

Each page is also going to have a journaling spot with hand written journaling. I pulled out a whole stack of journaling cards that I am keeping by my desk to write on.

Then for embellishment, I am pulling out a few things from my pile here and there.  I have a box of stuff right next to my desk so I can just get it when I need it!

I made the number labels last year on my cricut which took forever, but i made four sets!   I love the colors.

Here is a bit of info about my first few days.  I will share my journaling here and there once I get into a better routine of jouranling and posting.

Day 1: We decorated the tree and finished decorating the house.

Day 2:  We decorated outside in the warm sunshine.

Day 3: We went to the park in the morning to play.

I plan to post once or twice a week with my updated pages!  Thanks for looking!

December Kit from Crop Addict

I'm a little late in posting these, but I wanted to share my creations with the lovely Dec. kit from Crop Addict.  This kit is SOOO pretty!

My favorite part about this kit were the adorable cards with circles already punched out!  I used some of he Basic Grey chipboard houses for the front and doodled some smoke and "from our house".

On this layout, I used more of the houses and the pink and light blue color scheme with the traditional christmas colors.  This was our house all decked out last year!

This next page I used a whole bunch of the rub-ons and the beautiful poinsettia flowers that came in the kit.  I cut and punched some shapes from patterned paper for the flower centers.  I also used some of the 7 Gypsies tags and distressed them and journaled on them.

I used these big chipboard tags and put them right onto my layout.  I first stamped them with a big doily stamp and embossed with clear powder.  Then I sprayed them completely with red glimmer mist.  I added some small photos and a circle for journaling.

Lastly, I had some fun with this GIANT cardstock tag.  Instead of using it on a page, I decided it would be fun on a BIG gift!  So now I just have to go get the gift!!

Thats it for today!  I am so excited for tomorrow because I will be sharing my December Daily with you!!!!
