More American Crafts Scraplifts...

I have been a scrappin' fool this week.  I have done 2 more scraplifts of some AC designers for the AC blog challenge this week.

This first one is a lift of this LO by Moon Ko.

I loved the simple design of this LO with the patterned papers and the black and white photos.

Here is my take:

The AC prodcuts I used are some papers from the old Metropolitan line, and some foil Thickers. The cardstock is Bazzil, and the other embellies are from Pink Paislee, Making Memories, Martha Stewart, Me & My Big Ideas, and KI Memories.

Then I lifted this LO by Loredana Bucaria:

On this LO I loved the collage or scalloped squares.  I mostly scrap 12x12 though, so I had to adapt it to fit that size (as I did with the first LO, too).

My take:

Lots of Dear Lizzy papers here, including the fabric paper and some from Botanique as well.  Also there are a whole bunch of the Dear Lizzy chipboard shapes, some Dear Lizzy stickers, and crocheted flowers.  The title letters are basic grey, but the bracets are AC! 

Well I am done scraplifting for the week!  I loved looking through the AC blog, though! 

I am working on a few other LO's right now, too, so I will post them soon.  TFL!

Sketchy Thursdays 5/27 sketch

What I loved about the sketch this week at Sketchy Thursdays was the title and journaling around the outside of the page.

I had these two photos I have been wanting to scrap for a while and they have been sitting on my desk.  I used all scraps for this which I am very proud of!

Magpie Club Guest Designer for June!!!!!

I am SOOOOO thrilled to be the guest designer for Magpie Club for the month of June!

The story of how I came to be the GDT is so very cool...so I'm gonna share:

Back in February, I won the weekly draw at Sketchy Thursdays.  The prize happened to be the February kit from Magpie Club.  When I recieved the kit, there was a sweet note in it from Tara (the owner of Magpie Club) that said she had been a follower of my blog for a while.  I was so flattered. I had created some projects with the kit i won and shared them with her.  After a few exchanges of some emails, she had asked me to be a guest designer, and here I am!!!!  I can't believe that my projects are up on her site with the likes of her other designers: Piradee and Julie Bonner.

I just ADORE this june kit!  I have been DIEING to get my hands on some of that Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety, and some of the Jillibean Soup papers, too!

What I love about her kits is that she always uncludes some very unique items, like the milk lids and the piece of bandana fabric.

Anyway, here are 4 LO's that I did with the kit.


This first photo is of my sooooo classy husband, drinking a daiquiri...with his pinky up...
I loved how you could take the backs of some of the papers in the kit and make a more masculine LO.

She also had include these little slide frames.  I cut out the No. 1 from the Jillibean soup paper, glued it to the back of the slide, then covered it with Glossy Accents.

I think that Tara stamped the banner on the tag....isn't it cute???

I loved the bright colors and patterns on some of the papers.  The idea for this LO came from the pattern in Charlotte's shorts. Plus the orange-y colors on some of the papers looked like the color of cantaloupe!
The orange title is rubons that I used on the backsides of on of the papers, added glossy accents, then cut out. I also LOVE those green Thickers!

The kit contains a pack of these puffy, glossy flowers from American Crafts. There are a lot of different uses for them!


I haven't done a page about our pets in a long time, and I took this photo of the cat a few weeks ago. It was his turn to have a page...

I just love love love these milk lids!  Every cat likes milk, right??  I also used the fibers included and rolled them into this flower. It was fitting to use the Jillibean Soup birdhouse paper for this LO, too!  I used crackle accents on the birdhouse.
Lastly, my favorite LO.  I LOVE the Cosmo Cricket papers.  We went strawberry picking a few weeks ago, so obviously, this paper was perfect!
I used a Cosmo Cricket bumblee stamp that I had from my stash and stamped him on yello CS, cut him out, and glossied him.  Then I stitched his flying line.  The "memo" paper is the back of the 1,000,000 bill shown in the kit page.
I ran a basting stitch through the middle of the fabric and then pulled to create the ruffles.  The flousihes I cut with a die on my Big Shot and colored with Smooch pearlized ink.

American Crafts Scraplift Challenge

Every week the Ameican Crafts blog has a challenge where you have to use AC products.  This week was very fun because it is Scraplift Week!  You have to choose a LO from of the AC designers and scraplift them using at least two AC products.

As I was going through the blog, I would copy and paste some of the layouts into a document so that I could print them off to use them for the lift.  Well, there were at least 10 layouts that I have saved to lift because there is some amazing work there.

I decided to lift this LO by Jen Jockish.  I loved the randomness of the papers...the sizes and the different edges.

Since I love the colors in the Abode line, I decide to use these for this photo that I snapped when my mom and dad were visiting.  My dad had arranged these shoes by the closet door, and I just love how cute Charlotte's little shoes look.  It made me realize how special she is to our whole family.

Who's That Girl? and The Scrappiest

Since hubby has been working all week I have had a lot of time to scrap and the mojo is just flowin'! Hence all the blog posts...:)

Some sites I have been stalking are Who's That Girl...an AAM challenge blog, and The Scrappiest...a sketch blog.

The Challenge at "Who's That Girl" was to finish the statement: "Happiness is...".  I know this is an All About Me blog, but one thing about ME is that I love to take lots of photos.  I had taken Charlotte outside and I wanted to get some photos of her playing with some bubbles.  Well she was having nothing to do with it.  Shw could have cared less.  I can tell she is teething a bit again because she is gnawing on everything.  I just kept taking photos hoping I could catch one good one of her smiling and playing.  Well these are what I ended up with.  I just love that middle photo of her crying even though those "moments" I don't really look forward to! 

So I thought it was ironic that the challenge was "happiness is" because even though I didn't get exactly what I wanted, I was still happy with the photo.

I made the flowers by cutting strips of muslin and misting them with Glimmer Mist and then twising them.  I used Fabric Tac glue, which is acetone based, and I just have a manicure last week....NOTE: don't use this glue if you have nail polish on!!!  It totally ruined my polish!  :( 

All the papers are Pink Paislee Queen Bee (my FAV) and the letters are Basic Grey mini monos.

I had this greyish ribbon that I pleated with my machine.

I found The Scrappiest through a link on the message board at Memorable Seasons. What I loved about this sketch is that it had one portrait photo and one landscape photo. 

I got these Fancy Pants Road Show papers at Archiver's this past weekend and the fruit are from October Afternoon and American Crafts.

Cocoa Daisy May Scraplift

I love doing the Cocoa Daisy monthly scraplifts!  I was so inspired by Anna's sweet LO:

What I loved best about this was her photos of her daughter....she is just the cutest.I also liked that there were three photos.

  I chose to make mine go from small to large to compliment the view of the toy in Charlottes hand and it gets closer to the camera.

I got some of the new Cosmo Cricket papers at Archivers this weekend and although they are very bright, I just love how this LO came out!  TFL!

The Color Room #7

I love the weekly color combo challenges at The Color Room.  Since I usually start with photos when I scrap, I have to wait for a particular color combo to catch my eye.  I liked the one this week, but I didn't think I had the right papers to go with it.  Well when I was at Archiver's on Sat., I was walking through some BG stuff and saw the Kioshi papers and immediately I thought of this color combo.  I also had this B&W photo in my pile to scrap, so I thought I'd combine the two!

I also used the sketch at TCR site, too.  This LO came together so fast!!  Definetly a record for me.

My mom snapped this photo of me while they were visiting a couple weeks ago.  It is rare that I don't journal on a page, but I loved these GCD Studios phrase stickers and thought they said a lot about "Who I Am".  TFL!

Happy ? Easter

I am still really loving the American Crafts Dear Lizzy stuff!  I have had this project on my table for a while now, and just didn't know what it needed.  Well I went to Archiver's on Sat to scrap with a friend, and they had these Dear Lizzy crocheted flowers, and that was just what I needed!

I love the look on Charlotte's face in this photo!  She hate things on her head or in her hair.  I don't think she is going to be much of a girly-girl...

Papers are all American Crafts (except for the cut out bird which is Sassafras Lass).  The chipboard and stickers are the AC Dear Lizzy line, the chipboard letters are Cosmo Cricket, and the tiny letters are Adorn It.  Twine is Jillibean Soup.  TFL!

Candy Shoppe Designs May 15 Challenge

The May 15th Challenge at Candy Shoppe Designs called "Cotton Candy". Use this color combo below to create your LO and upload to the comments section.

Here is my take.  One of my fav things right now is heat embossing.  Everything on the page is heat embossed, and then I sprayed the background with some black glimmer mist.  I had to add in a touch of green, though, for more contrast.
