9 more for Sketch Fest!

Well I am pretty pleased with myself that I got NINE LO's done for the sketch fest at ScrapCity. I have come to realize that I am relly too tired to scrap during the weeks if Keith is working. However, once I get myself started, I like the outcomes!

So all these LO's were based on sketchs. I am working on an album called "Best of 2008" and I have about 40 pics or so of my fav memories from the year. These are some of them. I am going to use the rest of the sketches to try and finish the LO's for my album.

My First Digi!!!

OK, so this is the first Digi LO that I have ever posted! I can't say it is the first one I have ever made, because I have played around with it some. But this is definetly my first completed page. This template came from Martha at ScapCity during the ScrapCity Sketch Fest. It is a great template! You can d/l from ScrapCity...it was Challenge #2 in the Sketch Fest crop. Martha's blog is here. She has some great tutorials and freebies!

This digi kit is from Carrie Stephens at www.FishScraps.com it was a freebie, so go check out her stuff, too!

It's been a while...

since I posted, so I thought I'd update today!

I have been working on the challenges at ScrapCity for their sketch fest! All LO's are due by Friday. I created two sketches for the crop, one of which I posted earlier, and this one below. This particular one is designed to get people to use their scraps!

I have 5 LO's done for the crop, so I will scan them and post soon!

A few weeks ago at 2ScrappyChicDesigns we had a "Crop Your Heart Out" weekend crop. I made a little mini album out of tages and envelopes as a tutorial. I thought I'd share:

Tag & Envelope Mini Album
I bought these tag and envelope sets from Hot Off the Press
Photobucket

http://www.paperwishes.com/

but I have seen them at Hobby Lobby and Michaels.

Here are the instructions for making this album:
1. Remove the tags from the envelopes and cover the end with a piece of patterned paper. I cut a piece of PP about 3 inches, and had 1 ½ inches on one side, and it wraps around the back to the other side.
Photobucket

2. Ink the edges of the envelopes.
3. Measure and punch out holes along edge for binding. I used my crop-a-dile for this.
4. Glue ribbon at the end of the PP around the envelope.
Photobucket

5. I wanted to just put photos on my tags and have journaling on the envelopes, so I used some small journaling stamps and stamped on the front side of the envelope.
6. I cut out some shapes from some PP that I had and glued them to the front.

7. When the front of each envelope is completed, thread twine, string, or ribbon through the holes and tie in the front.

8. Now it is time to decorate your tags. I used some coordinating papers and I had a little inspiration help from Tag Maps! http://www.pagemaps.com/ I inked each tag at the edges, and added a different ribbon to each one, too.

I haven’t added in the photos yet on my tags, but I plan on giving this as a gift to my mom for her B-day in March!

You don’t have to go out and buy bags and tags. You can easily make your own tags from cardstock, and then make bags to match. I would suggest using vellum or old paper bags to make your smaller envelope bags. There are many sites with some great tag and bag and envelope templates:

I really did CROP MY HEART OUT this weekend!

Wow! I got a lot of things done, but not everything that I wanted to, of course! Today was a beautiful day, so I spent some time outside instead of my scrap room! OK here are a whole bunch of LO's that I have done in the past two weeks for random things...some of them are from the crop this past weekend at 2ScrappyChixDesigns for the Crop Your Heart Out (you still have time...uploads are due by Tues.!!); others are for challenges at ScrapCity; and yet others are from 52 Weeks...52 Sketches.

This pic is a bit old...from our honeymoon in Oct. 07. I just haven't gotten around to it yet til now! I just love these BG Ambrosia papers. The felt flower was handmade from a girl I used to be on a DT with at SugarNSpice, which isn't around anymore...

I lifted this LO from Marcie who I work with at 2ScrappyChix Designs! It was one of the challenges for Crop Your Heart Out!

This was for sketch #3 at 52 sketches...52 weeks. NOTE: Don't ever bring a full crock pot in the car without it being completely and tightly sealed!! I'm talkin' duct tape here...

Such a cute guy! This was for sketch #4 at 52 weeks...52 sketches. I was inspired for the colors by the Color Combo Challenge for Feb. at ScrapCity.

This was for the Sketch Challenge by Danielle at 2ScrappyChix Designs.

I meant to do this LO for the Color Combo Challenge back in January at ScrapCity, but I never got around to posting it!

This was for the color/theme challenge at 2ScrappyChix and the Photo Challenge at ScrapCity. Keith and I made these Friday night...that was when we celebrated Valentine's Day. He had a great dinner for me when I came home: filet mignon, grilled tiger shrimp, steamed green beans, and mashed sweet potatoes. He also bought me the flowers in the pic and a beautiful card with a gift certificate for a one hour massage! Guess what I got him? A grapefruit cutter...OK, it is a long story, but I feel kinda lame now cause he got me all that!

Keith's company holiday party was at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. It was so fun being among the dinosaurs and eating and watching people dance among the bones. We also got to see the Body Worlds 2 exhibit which was simply amazing. I used 52 weeks...52 sketches Sketch #5 for this...

I used Sketch #6 at 52 sketches...52 weeks for this LO. I love these new papers from Close to My Heart. I also used some Co'ordinates Cardstock which we are featuring in March at ScrapCity. More on that later...

This 2 page LO was based on a sketch from my friend Heather who is a Close to My Heart consultant. We have a monthly group that meets for a crop. We are starting a new monthly sketch challenge and this was the first one!

Phew that was a lot! But I feel so good now cause I have updated EVERYTHING! All my LO's are scanned and are all posted here! A very productive weekend!

Sketch Fest next weekend!!

Next weekend, Feb. 20-22, there is the Beach Party Sketch Fest at ScrapCity! I started a Pre-Crop challenge for everyone, so here it is!

Photobucket
For this challenge, I would like you to create a sketch! It has to be YOUR own work, no tagging sketches from other sites/people. You can hand draw it and scan it in, or you can create it in word, photoshop, etc....whatever your preference and level.

You do not have to do a LO to go with your sketch (yet! ). Please post your sketches in the Pre-Crop Challenge Thread and in the gallery. ALL SKETCHES MUST BE POSTED BY FRIDAY, FEB. 20 at MIDNIGHT!

You may complete up to 3 sketches for this challenge. Remember that for every challenge you complete, you are entered into the drawing for the crop prizes!

This is my FIRST EVER attempt at a sketch! I did it in photoshop, which I am not that great at, but I think it came out OK. It is very simple, but that leaves a lot of room for interpretation!

Be sure to keep checking ScrapCity Message Board and the ScrapCity blog for more crop info and events!

BLOG CANDY!

Check out this blog for some great blog candy featuring Marks Paper Comapany! Post a comment and a link to your blog to be entered to win!!!

ScrapCity Febraury Reveal!

The reveals at ScrapCity were just AMAZING this month! We each made a kit from our supplies, and sent the kit to someone else. Then we had to make the same kit for ourselves. You had to do two LO's with your kit, and two LO's with the kit you were sent from your partner. Here are the kits:

This is the kit that I made for Wendy. The papers are all Close to My Heart, and there is an assortment of embellies!

Here are the LO's that I did with the kit...one you have seen before!

This is the kit that Wendy sent to me:

It was full of some very nice BG Wassil papers!

Here are the LO's that I made with Wendy's kit. The grandpa one is a two-pager..

Lastly, we were sent a kit from Beatriz Jennings at "Dream Designs by iralamija". Check out her blog here.
Here are the LO's I made with the stuff from Beatriz. You might recognize the "Cutie" one cause I used it at the Page Plans competition!

Go chekc out ScrapCity for more DT reveals, plus the new all Digi CT Reveals!!!!
