Here is the baby quilt I made with appliqued "orange peels" in an non-traditional arrangement.
Project Supplies:
SpraynBond® Basting Spray
Liquid Fabric Fuse™
Project Instructions: I began by ironing Heat N Bond® lite to the back of each fat quarter. The size of the roll of Heat N Bond® is the perfect size of a fat quarter!
Then I used template to cut out a whole bunch of orange peel shapes. One of the prints has some flowers with a touch of a dark raspberry color, and I wanted to pull that out a bit more, so I found a solid raspberry in my stash that matched perfectly.
I arranged my shapes on my background and then peeled the Heat N Bond® paper from the back and ironed each shape in place.
I appliqued around each one with a zig zag stitch. Then it was time to baste and I always us the Spray N Bond® Basting Spray to baste ALL of my quilts...any size. Once quilted, I attached the binding and use some Liquid Fabric Fuse™ to help me keep it in place so I could get a perfect machine stitch on the back.
I found this perfect wood grain print in my fabric stash to use as a backing!
Thanks to Dear Stella for letting us work with these fabulous fabrics!
