I love the "idea" of quilting...taking some simple shapes and arranging them in such a way that the colors and shapes create a larger pattern. It's not surprising that this trend has carried over into scrapping and you see lots of pages with basic shapes creating interesting designs! I took that idea and ran with it on this page for
GCD Studios using the new Special Delivery collection designed by Heidi Sonboul.
I started by cutting 1" wide strips of papers that were 2 and 3" long. Then I just folded the corner back on one end of each, and arranged them to create a "negative" diamond shape. I tacked down each fold of paper with some thread. So a simple rectangle gave me some triangles and diamonds when folded!
I used this pattern to create a large border on the left side of my page. Because there was a lot going on with my papers, I stuck to white cardstock as my base, and a very neutral mat and simple embellishments.
Kyler has just recently learned what the naughty step is all about! It was time to start. He is learning some bad habits from his sister and they are fighting like crazy over toys! He doesn't like it one bit. He really is One Tough Guy, but I love him to pieces!!!
You can see this and many more awesome projects in the latest GCD Studios "Paper Cut" magazine!
Stay scrappy my friends!
