Where does the time go?

I just realized that I haven't posted in over a week! I have been on a ScRAPPy roll lately...keith worked the past two weekends, so I had a LOT of time! Where do I begin? Well I will just post some work and then talk about it, I guess:

ScrapCity had a great mini crop last weekend hosted by Wendy!!!! There were four card challenge (with sketches) and you got to do up to four cards for each challenge. I whipped out these cards in no time at all! Then I found out that I won one of the challenges cause Wendy drew my name! YIPEE!

OK, then I did FIVE, yes, FIVE sketch challenges!

These challenges came from:
52 Sketches....52 weeks (Sushi night and Daddy in Waiting)

Your Memories By Design (YMBD) weekend scraplift challenges: (Us and Love)

By the way DID YOU NOTICE! I won this past weekend with my Love LO at yMBD! YEAH ME!
And the last was for Creative Scrappers for their Feb. Guest DT challenge: (So Silly)

OK then I have some MORE LO's! I started my new DT responsibilities at 2 Scrappy Chix Designs. Their new Feb. kit is AWESOME! I got it and played with it ALL WEEKEND. In total, I made: 3 LO's, 1 word book album, 1 mini-album (3x3); 1 alterted item ( a wall hanging), and 2 cards!! OMG it is the best kit. I can't post them yet until the reveal on Feb. 1. Here is the kit:

BUT I also had to post a challenge for January. My challenge is to CRUMPLE YOUR PAPER and use it on a LO. I did an example of this technique:

Last but not least, there are TWO great Crops coming up!The first is Valentine's Day weekend. It is the "Crop your Heart Out" crop at 2SCD. It starts on Fri. night 2/13, and goes through Sun. 2/15. It is the Re-Grand Opening crop and there are great challenges and prizes.

The second is a Beach Party Sketch Fest at Scrap City! It starts on the 20, and you have a week to upload your creations. There are TONS of sketches and great prizes!

OK, I think that is good for now! I am working on some more stuff, and I want to update my project 365 pics this week, too!!

Oh yeah, one more thing: Check out this great tutorial on making a mini album from envelopes by Wendy at the ScrapCity Blog. I started it, but have to finish it soon!!!!

52 sketches....52 weeks

i just LOVE this site, 52 Sketches...52 Weeks. Well, it isn't entirely "new", it is a newly "remodeled" site and there are lots of great features. There is a weekly sketch contest with some awesome prizes. I decided that I am going to take one of my photos from the week from my Project 365 and do a LO about it. For Week #1 I picked SUSHI NIGHT! I love going out for sushi, but I really love to work in the kitchen with my hubby and have fun making food and enjoying the fruits (or raw fish) of our labor! And NO i am not eating raw fish while I am pregnant. We used fake crab meat and shrimp, COOKED! If you have never tried making it before it is a bit challenging, but once you get the hang of how to make the rolls nice and tight, they come out great. Keith thinks he can work at a sushi bar now.....um, yeah...don't think so....

52 Sketches...52 Weeks

YMBD Saturday Scraplift contest

I saw the sketch contest at Your Memories By Design on their blog yesterday morning and I just LOVED this LO and the sketch! It seems that everyweekend there will be a prize, which is cool! I will definetly be doing more of these over the weeks to come!

I used all CTMH papers and cardstock. The stars are grungeboard, and the bling is Glitz.

2 Scrappy Chix Designs

A few weeks ago I was so surprised that I made it onto the DT at 2 Scrappy Chix Designs. Theresa, the owner, is starting up new kits beginning in February and I just have to say it is AWESOME!!!!! I can't wait to get it and start creating with it!

We are gearing up for a HUGE crop in February, and January challenges will be posted soon. We really want to start increasing the participation on the board again with the intro of the new kit, so go over and register and tell everyone I sent you!!!

Here is a sneaky peek ( a very TINY peek) at the Feb kit:

Days 6-8

Well here are a few more days from the past week. I can't believe that today starts week 2 already, and I have been SOOO good about taking pics. It is kinda hard to do, to find new things everyday to take pics of. I guess I have to be more creative about it and really start thinking outside the box.

DAY 6

Today was the first episode of the new Biggest Loser!!!! I love to watch this show every week. Keith will watch it with me, but he makes fun of my facial expressions when I watch the show. Sometimes I get teary-eyed and he will laugh. We have this joke where we ask each other "Do you want to watch the Biggest Loser?" and then we stare at each other and say, "I already am". Corny, I know. Keith to a pic of me watching the biggest loser.

So since Christmas music is over for another 11 months, I have ggone back to my music "roots"! :) I was listening to an 80's station, and then a classic rock station, but Keith has his alarm set on 94.5 The Buzz, which is alternative and rock. I missed you guys!!!! I love the new Nickleback and Puddle of Mudd... I rock out with my radio really loud on my way to school every am.
DAY 7

Today we went to Lowe's to get the paint for the Baby's room! It was dead in there, so we picked a good night to go. They couldn't match the color of the furniture because it was too dark, I guess, so we had to try and match it as best as we could. The green, Jalapeno Jelly, will be on the bottom, and the light yellow, Champagne Dance, will be above the chair rail. The beige is for the bathroom, and the dark Brown Velvet is the color of the furniture. (The next color up from the yellow Champagne Dance was called "Cuddle" and I wanted that b/c of the name but it was a bit too yellow).

DAY 8

The first day of Week 2! Kinda boring....but we did this fun lab in class today where students had to "fish" with straws for beans out of their "ocean". It was hilarious watching them. The lab was supposed to demonstrate the concept of "Tragedy of the Commons", and I think they got the idea!

Me at working grading papers, which I HATE! It is the worst part about teaching!

Days 3-5

Well I have been VERY good about taking my pics so far, and I really love it! It is hard to take a photo of yourself every day.

I started putting my photos into some digi templates that I found specifically for Project 365. When I get done with my first week I will post, and I will post where I got all my templates from.

But here are days 3-5:

DAY 3

We went to Babies R Us today to get the crib and changing table that we wanted. They only had one left in stock. We probably spent an hour and a half there just looking at other stuff, too! We picked out a stroller and a Pack N Play, too.

We haven't painted the room yet, and we are going to do that probably towards the end of January. When we got home, Keith was so adamant about putting the crib together becuase he was excited. I didn't want to because we haven't painted yet. So a "discussion" ensued. But I love the fact that he is so excited, and it was so cute, that he won! And now I am happy because it gives us a better sense of the room.

DAY 4

Today was an uneventful day. A bit of cleaning and a long talk about if we are ever going to move back to NY. We needed to talk about some of that. After our talk we went for a four mile walk, and we passed by Bark Park! It isn't officially open yet, but we have snuck in to check it out!

I almost forgot to take my pic of me, so I took it right before I went to bed, cuddled up with the cat on the couch!

DAY 5

Well it was back to the grindstone today. Keith and I both had to work. I actually went to bed early, but I woke up at 3:45 to pee, and couldn't go back to sleep. I got out of bed at 5, and took my time this am. Monty loves to come in the bathroom and watch me take a shower. When I get out and flip my hair over to dry it, he loves to suck the water off. This is an everyday occurance!

I was so tired when I got home, that I went to go lay down for a nap. This is a daily occurance, too! I set my camera up on self timer, and got on the couch to go to sleep. When it went off, Chloe just happened to sit in front of the camera the right moment! How cute!

Day 2

Well I managed to get a few shots in today. Not like i was crazy busy or anything! I scrapped for most of the am, then took a nap, went to the grocery, and Keith and I made some SUSHI! It is fun to make it at home. Of course I can't have raw fish, but I had some shrimp and some crab, plus lots of veggies and rice. I took a whole bunch of photos of "the process". Keith hates me taking all these photos. Anyway, our table looks so "Asain" inspired, that I chose it for my pic for today! Then I took a pic of me doing the dished afterwards to PROVE TO THE WORLD that I do dishes! Well, I just put them in the dishwasher...does that count?

Project 365

I read about Project 365 in Creating Keepsakes Magazine, and there has been a lot of talk about it on many of the boards, lately. I resolve this year to take at least TWO pics a day: a pic of me everyday, and another pic of my daily goings-on. For Christmas I got a new Canon PowerShot Elph, so it will be easy to carry it with me everywhere! I really want to stay on top of this, so any motivation will help! So without further ado, here are my first pics of 2009!

POTD Jan. 1

All these pics were taking while I was sitting in the same spot!
I love my coffee first thing in the morn. I can't do anything unless I have a cup. Am I addicted? It is so nice not having school this week cause I can just sit and drink my coffee and gaze out the window and think of today.
These orchids are on my kitchen table, and I have had them for about a year and a half. They keep surprising me by making more and more blooms every time! They are so pretty and they almost look fake!
OK, had to take this pic because, well, it is just out there...my belly that is! I am going to have to take my belly ring out very soon. Bye Bye belly ring! (And belly, for that matter).
My special guy is always around me when the dog is outside. He is so photogenic.

Birthday Box

One of my resolutions for 2009 is to send a birthday card to everyone in my family on their b-day. I made this Birthday Box to keep track of the dates, and to hold the cards that I make for each person until it is time to send them out.

I was inspired by Megan at 2 Scrappy Chix Designs, who did a similar project using the same paper line and made her month cards from cutting board mats that you get at the dollar store (which I used, too). The paper is Sassafras Lass and the box came from Cosmo Cricket. I added a place on the back for stamps, too, so I can mail out my cards when I need to!

Speaking of 2 Scrappy Chix Designs, I found out today that I made the cut to be one of their newest design team members!!!!! I am SOOOOO excited. I have worked with some of the other ladies there before, and another one of the newest DT members, Taryn, I worked with at SugarNSpice (which is now shut down for good :( ). I am looking forward to doing projects for the team!
