American Crafts Scraplift Challenge

Every week the Ameican Crafts blog has a challenge where you have to use AC products.  This week was very fun because it is Scraplift Week!  You have to choose a LO from of the AC designers and scraplift them using at least two AC products.

As I was going through the blog, I would copy and paste some of the layouts into a document so that I could print them off to use them for the lift.  Well, there were at least 10 layouts that I have saved to lift because there is some amazing work there.

I decided to lift this LO by Jen Jockish.  I loved the randomness of the papers...the sizes and the different edges.

Since I love the colors in the Abode line, I decide to use these for this photo that I snapped when my mom and dad were visiting.  My dad had arranged these shoes by the closet door, and I just love how cute Charlotte's little shoes look.  It made me realize how special she is to our whole family.

American Crafts:
Both red print flower papers (from an older AC Christmas line)
Title sticker (Abode)
Blue with white scallopped stripes paper (Abode)
crosshatch paper (cut into circles) (Abode)
Brown square papers (Abode)

My Little Shoebox:
All the yellow papers and die cut spot
Red striped scallopped paper

K& Co:
Aqua with white stars

Who's That Girl? and The Scrappiest

Since hubby has been working all week I have had a lot of time to scrap and the mojo is just flowin'! Hence all the blog posts...:)

Some sites I have been stalking are Who's That AAM challenge blog, and The Scrappiest...a sketch blog.

The Challenge at "Who's That Girl" was to finish the statement: "Happiness is...".  I know this is an All About Me blog, but one thing about ME is that I love to take lots of photos.  I had taken Charlotte outside and I wanted to get some photos of her playing with some bubbles.  Well she was having nothing to do with it.  Shw could have cared less.  I can tell she is teething a bit again because she is gnawing on everything.  I just kept taking photos hoping I could catch one good one of her smiling and playing.  Well these are what I ended up with.  I just love that middle photo of her crying even though those "moments" I don't really look forward to!

So I thought it was ironic that the challenge was "happiness is" because even though I didn't get exactly what I wanted, I was still happy with the photo.

I made the flowers by cutting strips of muslin and misting them with Glimmer Mist and then twising them.  I used Fabric Tac glue, which is acetone based, and I just have a manicure last week....NOTE: don't use this glue if you have nail polish on!!!  It totally ruined my polish!  :(
All the papers are Pink Paislee Queen Bee (my FAV) and the letters are Basic Grey mini monos.
I had this greyish ribbon that I pleated with my machine.

I found The Scrappiest through a link on the message board at Memorable Seasons. What I loved about this sketch is that it had one portrait photo and one landscape photo.

I got these Fancy Pants Road Show papers at Archiver's this past weekend and the fruit are from October Afternoon and American Crafts.

More to come!

Cocoa Daisy May Scraplift

I love doing the Cocoa Daisy monthly scraplifts!  I was so inspired by Anna's sweet LO:

What I loved best about this was her photos of her daughter....she is just the cutest.I also liked that there were three photos.

I chose to make mine go from small to large to compliment the view of the toy in Charlottes hand and it gets closer to the camera.

I got some of the new Cosmo Cricket papers at Archivers this weekend and although they are very bright, I just love how this LO came out!  TFL!

The Color Room #7

I love the weekly color combo challenges at The Color Room.  Since I usually start with photos when I scrap, I have to wait for a particular color combo to catch my eye.  I liked the one this week, but I didn't think I had the right papers to go with it.  Well when I was at Archiver's on Sat., I was walking through some BG stuff and saw the Kioshi papers and immediately I thought of this color combo.  I also had this B&W photo in my pile to scrap, so I thought I'd combine the two!

I also used the sketch at TCR site, too.  This LO came together so fast!!  Definetly a record for me.

My mom snapped this photo of me while they were visiting a couple weeks ago.  It is rare that I don't journal on a page, but I loved these GCD Studios phrase stickers and thought they said a lot about "Who I Am".  TFL!

Happy ? Easter

I am still really loving the American Crafts Dear Lizzy stuff!  I have had this project on my table for a while now, and just didn't know what it needed.  Well I went to Archiver's on Sat to scrap with a friend, and they had these Dear Lizzy crocheted flowers, and that was just what I needed!

I love the look on Charlotte's face in this photo!  She hate things on her head or in her hair.  I don't think she is going to be much of a girly-girl...

Papers are all American Crafts (except for the cut out bird which is Sassafras Lass).  The chipboard and stickers are the AC Dear Lizzy line, the chipboard letters are Cosmo Cricket, and the tiny letters are Adorn It.  Twine is Jillibean Soup.  TFL!

Candy Shoppe Designs May 15 Challenge

The May 15th Challenge at Candy Shoppe Designs called "Cotton Candy". Use this color combo below to create your LO and upload to the comments section.

Here is my take.  One of my fav things right now is heat embossing.  Everything on the page is heat embossed, and then I sprayed the background with some black glimmer mist.  I had to add in a touch of green, though, for more contrast.

She wore an.....

itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, Little Polka Dot Bikini.......

OK, I just have to say...HOW CUTE IS SHE is her little 'kini!!!!

I made this LO for my class this week at my LSS.  I liked the Graphic 45 Boardwalk papers, and wanted to do a LO that wasn't too "girly" for all my class participants who don't have girls.

On the blue swirly circles I outlined EVERY swirl with some glossy accents.  It is hard to see in the pics, though.  I stitched around the circles, pleated and sanded some border punched strips, and added a few cute little tags.

My last little bits for MLS

OK, here are the last few things I created for the My Little Shoebox DT call.

I bought these cute little pots in the dollar bins at Target.  I repainted the rims, added some paper, a border with stickle and some twine.  I painted a popsicle stick, used some of the die cut photo corners and letter stickers with a butterfly on top for the tags!  I love how these came out!

Finally, I did this card.  I cut a circle through the middle and glued two butterflies on some fish string.  I thread the string through some holes around the circle and then covered the holes with a scalloped ring.  Since the cloud paper is on the inside I wanted to decorate the inside a bit, too!

TFL!  Now the wait begins!

American Crafts Brad Week and Scrapbooking From the Inside Out

Yes, this is my third post today.  I have a gazillion LO's to share because I haven't posted in while, so this may not be the last post, either!  :)

I found this new site called "Scrapbooking From the Inside Out".  Each month their kits are based on an emotion or feeling, and the whole months challenges and such revolve around that theme.  It is such a great concept and I just love it.  There was a Cyber Crop there this weekend and I didn't have a lot of time, but I did do the sketch challenge and you had to use the word "wait" (or some form) in the LO.

I am also entering this in the American Crafts brad week challenge!  Most of the stuff on this page is AC. The floral paper, the green paper for journaling, and the grey flowers are from the "I Do" line.  The chipboard pieces are from the Dear Lizzy collection, and the brads are from the Botanique line.

I altered the grey flowers a bit by coloring in some areas with a white pen, and then I pop-dotted a second layer of the flower on top.

Sketchy Thursdays May 6

I have done a ST LO in a while, and I miss them.  :(  Now that SBKC has closed, I will have  lot more time again!!!

I snapped these photos the day after Easter at my brother's house.  He was looking for something in a cupboard, and of course Little Miss Nosey had to go investigate and start taking things out of the cupboard.

I used some of the new Basic Grey BASICS collection which is one of my new favs!  LOVE this line.  I also used some old old old fabric I had to make the flowers and some new Pink Paislee 365 papers.  TFL!

A Few LO's for My Little Shoebox

OK, so I got some guts and decided to try for the My Little Shoebox Design Team call.  Here are my first two LO's.

I loved using this line with pics of Charlotte...I think having a little one makes it so easy to use these papers.

Charlotte will be ONE YEAR OLD one week from today!!!  I took these photos about a week ago, and the journaling reflects how fast the year has gone by!

I stitched around the edges of the CS and the edges of the circle paper and around the photo.

About 2 weeks ago, I went and got my hair cut.  I haven't had it cut in almost 2 years....sad, I know.  About 4 months after I had Charlotte, my hair started falling out like crazy, so I didn't want to get it cut!!  Anyways
, I snapped these pics of myself in the car after I got it cut!  It feels so good now!
I used the MLS overlays for this and the journaling spots (which I love!).

I did a card, too, but have to wait to take pics until tomorrow!  Then I will update!

Scrapbook Kit Club ANNIVERSARY Blog Hop and CROP!

Today is the 1 year anniversary of Scrapbook Kit Club!!!  We are celebrating in NSD style with a blog hop and crop!  PLUS, since today is the first of the month, that means a new kit reveal!!!

Here is the information about the crop and blog hop:

Now for the May kit reveal:

This kit features some papers from the Crate Paper "Brook" line and My Mind's Eye "Quite Contrary-Little Boy".
Here are some of my creations with the kit (so far!)

This first LO I really only used one piece of patterned paper.  I used the alphas chipboard and traced the shaped and then painted it with white paint.

For the title, I painted the brown alphas white and misted them a bit with some blue glimmer mist.  Then I wrote out the word "bonnets" on a transparecny with a black sharpie.

For the flowers, I used a scallop circle punch with the blue cardstock (which I misted with red and blue mist to make it more purple). I cut each scallop circle in half and rolled into a cone.

And of course it wouldn't be complete without some butterflies!

For this next LO, I also used a patterned paper for teh background, and some punched strips for behind the photos.

Some of the buttons came with the kit, but the others were clear ones from my stash that I backed with patterned paper and glossy accents.

Finally, for this LO, I used some brown mist on te backgroun and then went over it while it was wet with a light coat of Mod gives it a little bit of a sheen, and loved the effect...I will definetly try this again!

I wrapped some of teh Jillibean Soup twine around the patterned paper and then stitched it.

The colors in this kit were a bit challenging for me since I have a little girl, but I am so happy with how things came out, and I am glad I tried a lot of techniques to make it fit my photos!

Your next stop on the blog hop is Jennifer's Blog.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE her is truly amazing, and you'll love it, too!

Be sure to stop back on MONDAY MAY 4 for another installment of this blog hop with a fun twist!
