Altenew Enjoy the Ride Scrapbook Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Welcome to the Altenew "Enjoy the Ride" Blog Hop!  "Enjoy the Ride" is a brand new scrapbook collection from Altenew with gorgeous florals, leaves, and artsy backgrounds!

You can start the blog hop at the Altenew Blog HERE and see the new collection in the store HERE.

I have TWO pages and videos to share with you today with this release.  In my first video, I do a run through of all the products for you to see.

I decided to work with the dark green paper for my background and have the bright florals and leaves pop off the page.  I decided to fussy cut these elements instead of using the die cuts because the die cuts have a white border on them, and I liked the look of just the colors on the dark background without the white.

Instead of using mixed media, which I often do, I opted to use the washi tape to get a mixed media look.  I made an area to ground my photo, and also added a bit on the left to draw the eye across the page.

I just added some of the chipboard pieces and letters for my title, plus a few splatters of blue paint to pick up on the blue in the camera icon.

You can watch the process for this page here:

For my 2nd page, I also started with one of the "artsy" painted background papers, this time in a light blue.

I fussy cut MORE flowers and leaves from patterned paper, and this time used some inks and mists on my background.

I layered my flowers and leaves so that they flowed diagonally across the page.

And the chipboard icons were perfect for my photo about our long bike ride!

Altenew Mixed Media Blog Hop

Welcome to the Altenew Mixed Media Inks Blog Hop!  Today the designers will be sharing projects with the new ink pictured here:

Scroll to the bottom of this post to see the giveaway information!

Let me share my projects with you!

I created two cards using the Mixed Media Inks, and I wanted to try some techniques that I like to use on my scrapbook pages when using mixed media.

For my first card, I used the Moroccan Mosaic Stamp Set to make some flowers using the Ruby Red, Coral Berry, and Frosty Pink inks.

For the leaves, I used some watercolor paper, stamped the inks on my mat, and used a watercolor brush to create a background with different shades of green.  Then I used the leaves from the Garden Picks 3D Die Set and layered the bits together.

For my 2nd card, I repeated the watercolor technique to create a background on watercolor paper, using my brush to create splatters as well.

I used my blending tool to create an ombre effect with the four shades of pink, and then cut out the word "Hello" from the Mega Hello Die.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Altenew July 2020 Stencils/Enamel Dots/Creative Cutouts/Decals Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Welcome to the Altenew Blog Hop featuring some new releases for July 2020, including Stencils, Enamel Dots, and Creative Cutouts!

You should have arrived from Lydia Evans blog. You can see the full hop list below.

You can find the beginning of the blog hop on the Altenew Blog HERE. And of course the Altenew store has all the new releases in stock!

I began my process by creating the circles from green cardstock and the "Geometric Landscape Stencil".  I blended a few different colored inks, then punched and cut out the circles.  I inked and distressed the edges as well.

For my background, I gessoed white cardstock, used some yellow mists and a watered brush, and then used the "Cloud Scene Stencil" to add some dimension and layers of color.

I machine stitched the circles onto the background, and then used blue and green mists to color the "Nested Wreath Creative Cutouts".

For the final details and embellishments, I used Wood Veneer that I inked orange, a phrase stamp from the Morrocan Tile stamp set, some of the new "Tropical Forest Enamel Dots" and some labels from my stash.

You can watch my entire process in the video below:

Top Layouts of 2019

My blog has been neglected for quite some time!  If you want to catch up with my scrappy endeavors, please check out my You Tube channel, instagram, and Flickr gallery!

Today I am going to share with you my favorite 10 layouts of 2019.  Since starting back to work full time, I have not had nearly as much time to scrap anymore, so I don't even think I made 100 pages this year!  But no matter, I still was able to run my Summer Scrappin' Series and attend a lot of crops with friends.  In no particular order, here are my favorite pages.  Many of them have process videos, which are linked to the page title if you click on it.
