That's My Girl! Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop with process video

Ever month, a group of my scrappy friends get together and we do a little blog hop with projects we've made from our stash!  Yes, I actually used the products I have in my stash!

Check out the Blog Hop list at the end of this post and be sure to hop along!

Today I used some older Basic Grey (Soleil) and Studio Calico (Printshop).

And some close ups of all the lovely layers!

If you want to watch me create this page, check out my video here:

And here is the blog hop order for this month!  Go see what lovely things other people have dug out from their stash!

Hey There Flower Girls!

A few weeks ago Charlotte was in my cousins wedding as a Flower Girl.  The other flower girl was my cousins daughter.  Good thing they had each other to keep entertained!

I created this page for a challenge I issued at My Scraps & More for the Got Talent contest.  My challenge was to use a black background and bright colors.  These My Mind's Eye papers were perfect!

I started my designed based on this large doily border chipboard piece.  I covered the centers with other patterned papers and some brads and other elements.  On the background of my page, I swiped some white paint with a card.  You can see here that I actually used that white base as a spot for my journaling.

Under the doilies, I layered some banner pieces and stickers.

Behind the photos, I layered some patterned papers (one of which looks like a lot of papers layered, but it is actually just one piece of paper.  Then there is some stitching, enamel dots, brads, and other small chipboard pieces!

This was really a challenge for me because I mostly use white or light colored backgrounds, but I love the way it came out!  And you KNOW I have a ton of wedding photos to scrap, so you'll be seeing those up soon!  :)

Stay scrappy my friends!

A mini for mother...and lot of other happenin's

When I saw the piece of Prima Almanac paper with the cards on it in this months Birds of a Feather kit, I immediately knew that I was going to use them to make a mini album.  I thought black and white photos would go just beautifully with these papers.  And seeing as how I used this kit to make some Mother’s Day Cards, I decided to make a little gift for my mom, too…a mini album of some of my favorite photos of the kids over the past 9 months.

Here is the paper that I used for the cards inside:

I cut out the 12 cards and glued them front to back to make 6 pages.  On each page a add a tab with a word cut from patterned paper. For the covers, I simple used two pieces of chipboard and covered them with the flocked paper on the outside and splattered with white paint.  I punched one small hold in the middle of the left edge and threaded a piece of twine with a little “give” to allow for the pages to open up.  I then glued the black velvet ribbon around the album spine and added some length so it could wrap back around the front.  I added some magnetic closures to help the ribbon stay closed.  I die cut a doily shape from patterned paper and fussy cut the butterfly from one of the papers.

On each page I simply put a photo of the kids and added some punched flowers and a few other embellishments here and there.  I forgot to do this before I photographed, but I do want to add the dates to each page.  The photos are in chronological order.  A simple, yet sweet album that I know my mom will love!
