Happy Easter! Therm O Web Super Tapes

Hello and Happy Spring!

The flowers are starting to come up and the days are starting to get warmer!   How cute are the kiddos below in their Easter outfits from last year?  I loved their hats!  (Too bad Charlotte wasn't smiling).

I made the gold glitter and white flocked flowers with the SuperTape™ Adhesive Sheets from Therm O Web that I cut on my die cutting machine.  The Lazy Daisies cut file is available in the Just Nick store!  The springy papers and die cuts are from Pebbles and Pink Paislee. Isn't that bunny just adorable!

To begin, I added a piece of the square SuperTape™ to a piece of white cardstock, leaving the red film on one side.

Next, I ran this cardstock with the tape through my cutting machine to cut the flowers.  On my Silhouette Cameo, I used a blade depth of 7 and the double cut feature.

Once cut, I weeded the design from my mat and pulled off the flower shapes.

Gently pull off the red film on a flower and add some loose gold glitter.  I glittered half of my flowers and used a white flocking powder on the others.  Once coated, it's best to rub in the glitter and flocking powder with your finger to make sure the flower is completely covered.

Finally, I layered the flowers together to get the desired look for my page.  A few enamel dots or buttons make great centers, and you can pop them off your page with some 3D Zots™!  And that bee brad was a bonus find in my stash from an old Crate Paper collection called Neighborhood.

Here We Go-SUMMER! *lazy titles*

So I have noticed lately that  lot of my layouts have what I like to call *lazy titles*.  What I mean is that I am using sentiment stickers, die cuts, or other packaging as titles instead of trying to think one up on my own.  It works and is saving my some time and frustration!  I hate thinking of clever titles!  This page is no exception:

Some more "Lakeside" love from Pebbles.  I can't get enough of these photos of the kiddos on the dock.  I did this page and a page I posted last week (which you can see here) separately, but when I put them next to each other, it almost looks like a double page spread!  I may try this when I have a lot of photos to scrap: just do two separate pages with the same papers to make them look cohesive (I have a hard time with double page design).  Anyways, here's the scoop:

I cut the chevron paper along the pattern and stuck a bit on the bottom edge of the page.  There are some white paint splatters and modeling paste spread through a stencil.  Then I added a few flower stickers moving from bottom right to top left.

There are of course, lots of layers of papers, which all have distressed edges.

And my lazy title, placed over another sticker and some more layers.

Working on some more summer pages with this line (S'mores anyone?)

Stay scrappy my friends!  :)

Summer Memories

Last week I posted about how much I love the "Lakeside" collection from Pebbles and today I am going to share some more layouts that I made!  My mother in law just had a new dock put in at the camp in the Thousand Islands and it is LONG.  The kids love running up and down it and jumping off of it into the water!  I wanted to use a really big photo to capture the size of the dock.

I used every piece of patterned paper that came in this collection on this page.  With the large photo, I was able to use a lot of the patterns together and still not distract from it.

I simply cut a whole bunch of strips of paper and distressed them all and started layering them down the sides of the photo.  Then I machine stitched down the edges of my photo.

I just layered a few simple embellishments and stickers to top it off and kept it simple in that department!

I have a few more from this collection to share in the next few days, so stay tuned!  :)

Kiddie Kayak

Every summer, we spend LOTS of time in the Finger Lakes and in the Thousand Islands.  Let me tell you how EXCITED I was when I saw Pebbles Lakeside collection!!  Most summer collections are beach related with surfboards and beach umbrellas, not "lake" related with canoes and docks.  I love love this collection!

A few weekends ago, Charlotte's grandma bought her an inflatable kayak and she had a BLAST paddling around the bay!  My page is based off of today's sketch at the My Scraps & More blog.

I used the water pattern paper as a guide for my machine stitched lines.  I created a large embelishment with the canoe sticker and some circles punched from patterned paper.

I used some "nautical" themed wood chips from Studio Calico and layered lots of the papers from the collection.   I used a few other wood patterned papers and stickers to create a visual triangle on the page.

Believe it or not, I have used a LOT of this collection, and it's almost gone!  I will share more next week.

Stay Scrappy my friends!

At the Car Wash...

Want to know how to entertain a 2 year old and a 4 year old for 2 hours? Some dishsoap, water, and washcloths...then tell them it's a car wash! Works every time!

I used some papers from Pebbles "Lakeside", Studio Calico, and Echo Park, too.  Also pulled out a ton of older things from my stash!

I love the layout of this page!  I was of course inspired by today's sketch on the My Scraps & More Sketch blog!  You can check it out HERE.

There's a Glitz rhinestone and a Basic Grey transparency with some machine stitching behind.

I cut a doily shape using my Cricut and the Art Anthology cartridge with the yellow Echo park paper and put a yellow doily transparency from Pebbles on top.  Then there are some Heidi Swapp alphas and Lily Bee alpha stickers, too.

Some OLD Sassafrass and October Afternoon stickers, and I think those are Basic Grey fabric brads.

And a few more bits, too!

Hope you have a great weekend and stay scrappy my friends!

Life Under a Rock...

Charlotte has been spending HOURS this spring lifting up rocks and digging in the dirt in our gardens in search of WORMS.  She also finds lots of other bugs, which for some reason, she calls "squigs"...I have no idea where she got that word from, but I love it!  :)

I used this weeks sketch from Skissedilla.  I was inspired so do some stamping (which I don't do enough of) and ink splattering and painting on the background.  I kept the design simple to focus on the photos.

I had to use something brown and squiggly to remind me of worms, and this twine from Lawn Fawn was perfect!  The other embellies are from Pebbles Lakeside collection and LYB Naturals collection (which was given to me by a sweet lady by the name of Lisa Swift!  :) ).
